Jay Grebe Yeatts, artist and experimenter
Jay lives in Richmond, Virginia, with her husband and 5 children and is an enrolled member of the Rappahannock tribe of the Powhatan Confederation. She is a full-time artist with a focus on Sculptural art and custom commission work. She splits her time between work, family and tribal life. She works with the tribe developing educational programming for tribal youth, environmental activism and historical interpretation.
She studied arts and education at Frostburg State University, earning both an BFA and an MAT. She has also attended professional development and skills classes at Maryland Institute College of the Arts, Goucher College, University of Maryland University College.

Jay's undergraduate work was a dual Sculpture and Jewelry making concentration, but with the assistance of Karey Mattingly (Frederick County Public Schools) and Jackie Brown (Frostburg State University) she was able to find her passion in ceramic arts.

While her primary focus remains on ceramics, Jay also enjoys photography, painting, wood burning, cake design and a variety of other medias.
